pencil trick

Forgive my newbieness but, what are the details on the pencil trick for closing the L1 bridges? How do you make the connections with a pencil? Does the graphite make the connection or what?

9 outta 10 times the pencil trick will unlock the chip. Depending on your cpu, an AMD Duron has 4 sets of dots that look similiar to this:

The above is your L1 bridge.

In order to unlock the processor for o/c you want to make that bridge look lik this:

With your pencil, you can use anything from a pencil, window defrost kit, even solder (not necessariliy recommended), anything that will connect those bridges.

Only issue with pencil marks.. They rub off and sometimes you have to remove the marks and remark it in order to get it to work.
