View Full Version : OEM or Retail ?
Is there a difference wrt o/cability? This used to be an issue with Intel chips that retail in general was a little better - how about amd, in particular the 1.1 and 1.2 GHz TBirds?
Thanks

Just go grab an OEM rather than paying extra bux for crappy stock fans that you'll throw away anyways in couple of days. Those fans are suitable only for the stock speed and not for overclocking. If overclocking is not your game, then you can just get the retail version. But why would you be here in the first place if you are not planning on overclocking right?
The OEMs and the retails are the exact same chip produced from exact same manufacturing fascilities so there should be no difference whatsoever in quality nor "overclockability."
I have to admit that those AMD Athlons or Durons badges are aaaaawwwsome but hey...you can get your own custom badge(s) from many places for relatively cheap cost.
Well, it solely up to you though...:):):):)
