Which would be better for ASUS A7N8X-DLX with a 1700+ DLT3C?
Overclocking to around 200 x 11 once I get the RAM.
Mushkin Dual Channel PC3200 CAS222 (2x256 set) or Kingston Hyper X PC3500 (2x256 sticks).
The Mushkin is a few bucks cheaper, and comes as a matched set, but Kingston is rated at higher speed (PC3500).
Are they pretty much the same level or is there any advantage to one over the other?
The Kingston Hyper-X has some compatibility problems with various nForce 2 motherboards...I have found Mushkin to be very good memory...Their CAS 2 stuff overclocks well...Alot of people love the Kingston Hyper-X...I have used Hyper-X but have no experience hot roddin it...;)

i've heard that Mushkin takes alot more voltage that kingston just to run spec. the kingston always runs way over spec, that and those blue sticks look pretty tight if you ask me.

Hyper-X with campatability problems on nForce2? WTF!?!
I've got about 8 sticks of Hyper-X around my work bench and in
my computers, along with another 8 sticks of Corsair XMS, and
a couple OCZ and now TwinMos.
Bang for the buck, I think Hyper-X and TwinMos ROCK! With OCZ
being a close third.
I like the Hyper-X because Kingston is easy to get a hold of, and
they even return calls if you have to leave a message. They
have a lifetime warranty, and yes, they do look damn cool.
In the past few months I've owned:
ABIT NF7-S 2.0
Chaintech Zenith NJ7S 1.1
ASUS A78X Deluxe v 1.4
Shuttle SN41G2 1.1
and last night I got an
Epox 8RDA+ 2.0
Every single one of them runs Hyper-X flawlessly, and I find
that they are generally under-rated a bit. For example EVERY
one of my PC-2700 Hyper-X has hit 183 which was the top
my ASUS A78X Deluxe could hit. I've never taken the time
to push them further.
With certain BIOS I have had trouble with the Corsair XMS
oddly enough...but never witht he Hyper-X. I highly recommend
it.
As for Mushkin....back in the PC-150 Days I thought nothing
was better then Mushkin...but today, I feel they are charging
an Uber-Premium for their memory. Not that it's bad, but I just
don't think it's worth THAT much.
If I was on a budget, I'd hit the Hyper-X or Twin-Mos. If I wanted
SUPER HIGH performance I'd get the high end OCZ and maybe
Twin-MOS, but the TwinMos has been somewhat hit or miss
on SUPER overclocking. And if I wanted all around rock solid
consistant memory, I'd hit the Corsair XMS or the Hyper-X

nothing overclocks like mushkin black, they have it in 3200 2-2-2 and 3500, the mushkin black 2100 2-2-2 overclocked better than lots of 3200 sticks - well over 200fsb, my stick of mushkin blue runs at lower than default voltage (2.48) on my 8rda+ and i'm using better timings than spec'd completely stable and memtested
My Muchkin 3500's seem a bit better than my hyperx 3500's. Both in 256 x2 config. (for what it is worth)
(Mushkins 3500 currently at 230fsb dual sync at 5222 in NF7-S 2.0)

I would hope somthing rated for 3500 would do better than somthing rated for 2500 (if that actually exist)
I just ordered 512MB stick of Mushkin PC3200 Black Hi Perf Level II (2-2-2). Only 106.5 euros.
