Cathode fans

OK, i picked up a few of those cathode fans and was planning on putting them in the back mounts on my antec (chieftec) case. I asked the guy he said people do it al the time. Now, they dont fit in the mounts, and it looks like the mounts should snap out. Except i cant get them out. Anyone know how to?

To get those holders off, look at the back of the case. You will see the 4 big tabs that hold it on. Well on the right hand side there should be 2 bumps in the metal of the case above and below the tabs. There you will see itty bitty little tabs that you need to push in with a screwdriver to get the holder off.

so are you able to get the fans in now? .. they look to be normal sized.

Well, the fans are normal sized, its the cathode that takes up too much room. I have them on there temporarily weith zip ties, you actually cant even see the tie cause its behind the fan, and it looks a lot better without them ugly fan mounts
