Bad DIMM slot on IC7, anybody else seen this?

I got an IC7 and 2.6C from Googlegear the other day. Couldn't get it to boot with anything in DIMM slot 0. Looked closely and found about 5 of the pins were out of alignment and actually sticking out into the slot (when they should be flush with the side)

Anybody else seen this? I've had a zillion boards over the years and never had this problem. I e-mailed googlegear, so hopefully I'll have an RMA # on monday.

In a mostly unrelated question, has anybody been able to put an 'old' model MC462 HSF (the one with the smooth pins) on the socket 478 boards? I have one from my Athlon set-up, and would like to continue using it. Swiftech makes an adapter for the socket 423 boards, but I don't know what the differences in mounting are...

Thanx,
SteveJ
