I'm installing a friend's computer with the foll specs:
- Intel board based on 845BG DDR chipset
- Intel Pentium 4 1600
- NVidia Geforce2MX 400 64MB DDR
- 5200 RPM Maxtor 20GB
- 386 MB DDR

In WinMe, 3DMark2001 is only 998. No anti-aliasing, VSync off, no Anisotrophic.
I thought the Windows has been corrupted, so I reinstalled WinXP instead from scratch (not upgrading). What surprised me is that even in a newly installed WinXP, 3DMark2001 score is only 1100.
I believe this is unacceptably low score for the spec, even for Geforce2MX. I believe the score should be around 2500-3000.

What could be the problem? I've run out of ideas.
Is there known compatibilities between Intel 845BG chipset and NVidia driver ???

Did you install the Intel INF update? A fresh windows, a late model Nvida driver, and the INF update should be all that is required to produce 3000+ scores.

Sorry it is MY mistake. My friend told me it was Geforce2 MX 400, and I didn't bother opening the case to check the board myself.
It is apparently only Geforce2MX 200 64MB. The video bios during boot only shows "Geforce2 MX 64MB", so I assume it was really MX400. Well, my friend was wrong. That explains why the score is sooo lowww.

Let's see, for 3D mark 01, I got around 1600 to 1700 points with
MS 6534 (i845), P4 1.5Ghz, 512Mb Sdram, and a 32Mb Gef2 mx200.
Technically your card should score a few hundred points extra as our system is similar, not to mention you have ddr ram, way faster.
