You can set the drive back farther on the rails it runs on, or whatever you want to call them. I also cut out the back of the faceplate, so the cd tray is sort of in the faceplate. I wish I had a digicam I'd post some pics. If you have any questions pm me and I'll try to explain myself further.
the drives are as far back on the rails as they can go (last screw holes), i also cut out the stuff on the inside of the blank face plate so the drive is as close it it as possible

Cut the 5.25" panel down to the absolute thinnest it can be with a dremel or some clippers. It should look like just a thin piece of plastic 2mm thick. Take off the cd-drive plastic tray cover and put 2 layers of double sided tape on the end of the tray. Put the drive as far back on the white rails as possible and it should be completely flush with the other panels. That's how I did my chieftec and it looks perfect.
ill try trimming it a lil more round the edges and see if it helps

My instructions are kinda hard to understand but you'll want to cut that panel into one completely flat piece of plastic.
ah right i think i konw what you mean

Did you take off the front cover of the cd tray? it shouldn't have that on it.

Would there be any way to make that last screwhole in the rails a screw track? That way you could slide it back even further.. unless where the hole is located prevents that. I've never owned a Chieftec case, so I wouldn't know.

I have performed this mod on my blue Chieftec case. Instead of shaving down the bezels like some people have mentioned, I took the drive rails, measured out a new hole location farther back on the rail, and drilled out the holes. The drives are now able to sit far enough back so that the bezels cover them. I then superglued the bezels to the drives. Unfortunately, I have no pics of it since I dont have a digital camera.

I did the same thing. I just made the screw holes, uh, longer. I guess screw track is the right word for it. A little dremel action and you're set. As long as you snug the screws down the drive isn't going anywhere.
i think im gonna redrill some hole to move the drive back thanks for the help ppl!

there really should be more holes on those rails. I saw a review of a front panel display once that stuck out a good centimeter. Ech... ugly...
