View Full Version : Errr... Do cold cathodes give off UV??

Because I recently recieved some rounded IDE cables that glow under UV light. They were being sold right alongside cold cathode lights so I assumed thats what gives off the UV. Now that i've sat here waving my CC over these cables, i'm beginning to wonder.

Also, does anyone know where to by UV light kits for a decent price...dont they get really hot tho?

You could check www.thinkgeek.com, also. But since you've already got them, well then. :)

Thinkgeek doesn't sell cold cathodes... or least I couldn't find any on there a few minutes ago. SVC has great sale prices... $7.99 for any color or mix of color cold cathodes plus inverter. I picked one up myself and expect it here tomarrow or Friday.

$7.99 + ~$6 shipping (also got some thumbscrews and rounded cables) is a LOT better then the local computer stores around here... They will charge you $45 for a CC + inverter.
