I was at AutoZone yesterday and came across the following cool things that some of you have been looking for.

1. Military style flip cover switches. They have about 7 or 8 different colors. 6 Bucks.

2. EL wire. Red, Yellow, Purple. 20 bucks

3. A control panel that can turn on and off 4 different items. (it is used for turning on and off 4 different CCFL in automotive application) It has a flat panel push screen that you could mount on the front of your computer. Lead wires run to a distributor box that you can put inside the computer. Really cool, I almost bought one. Costs 29 bucks.

Also in places like that you can find;

Internal/external LCD thermometers, with a probe on a long lead, you can bust off the plastic case and have a nice small thermal probe, and the units themselves often sit nice in the front of a 3.5 floppy bay. Costs you like $7-10 instead of like $30 for a PC specific one.

Rear window defogger repair kits, for AMD CPU unlocking, but useful to have on hand if you bust a trace or something.

Thermal grease! Yes, there's some ignition modules that need this, and if you don't have a decent computer store in town you can sometimes find this in an auto store. It's just the generic white zinc oxide stuff, but it's better than a thermal pad or nothing.

I have one of those flat panel 4-switch things in my truck... The distribution point is WAY too bit to be put anywhere nicely in a computer unless you want to sacrafice a whole 5.25" bay for it..
