I just replaced my 2000+ that would do 2Ghz with 1.8 volts and 200 FSB with this same MB, but as soon as I swapped in the new 2500+ I can't use the 200x10 setting with the Agressive CPU setting. On the 2000+ I could, but I am forced to Optimal to get 2Ghz. I can, howver run 200x9.5 with Agressive, if I try 200x10 the screen goes off, then comes back on, and the speed does as 1100Mhz or something. Any ideas? I have the May BIOS.

Will there be a fix to the issue where you can't run Aggressive, and only Optimal? Also I get low scores now for some odd reason with a Barton. Are there issues with Bartons? I can't figure out why it performs less than my 2000+ at the same speed. I ran PCMark and my scores were almost the same! Doesn't the extra cache come in to play?

2500+ at 2.1Ghz
8RDA3+
512 PC3200
200 GB WD 8MB Cache
Windows XP
Audigy 2

For example here is my 3D2K3 score

Here it is with the 2000+ at 2Ghz

Curious as to the voltage on the cpu--did it stay the same at 1.8V or did it drop to stock when the new Dolly Barton was inserted...
Also what is your cooling setup and idle/load temps---- if you post more complete info--more folks will be able to help---

Right now I am at stock volts, 1.6?

I set the BIOS to fail safe prior to installing the Barton.

Cooling consists of a SLK900U and AS3. Idle is 41 C when the room is pretty stuffy and around 45 MAX at idle in the same stuffy room. Open windows the CPU is down to 36.

In order to achieve an overclock in the 2.2-2.4 range you will have to add some voltage to the CPU.. I run my system "2500" at 1.85V to reach 200X11.5 for 2300.. My cooling is good with a Sk-7 and tt smartfan2 and I have good airflow thru my case with 4 80mm fans blowing in and 3 80mm blowing out...
1.6V is NOT enough to go past 2.1...
The only cpu's I've heard who can realistically reach high clocks with low voltage are the DLT chips that have their core voltage stock rated at 1.5V but draw higher amperage...

Also look at adding extra cooling to the Northbridge and Mosfets, I'll send you some links..

Well I'm not worried about running any faster as ar as MHz. I just want to know if what I have now is running up to par. I'd like to know why the MB will run at Optimal and not Aggressive. I have a Iceburg on the NB with AS3 as well.
