non oc-ing budget board

What board should I get for a friends computer? I'm gonna use either a 24 or 2500+ proc. It is gonna have Corsair value pc2700 ram. He is on a tight budget so what should he get? He needs 4x/8x agp, and sound.

A board with the KT400 chipset is probably what you'd want. It'll be around $70.

I'd go with Abit, Asus, or Epox, but that's just my personal preference. You might not want to risk a refurb, but they're cheaper.

if you are tryin to make a cheap system, an don't have a video card already, you might consider the epox 8rga+ with the integrated gf4 mx on it. it is only $99. very good board and pretty good video card. prolly won't find a good card for $30 that compares to it
