hi, everyone~~I just got my setup done.
wb: maze4
hose: Home Depot cheapo.
pump: maxijet 900
heatercore: d-tek pro core with shroud
fan: one panaflo

CPU: 2100+ @ 13x185=2400Mhz
voltage: 1.85

TEMP: 53C IDLE 58C LOAD
case temp: 36C

wtf is wrong with my setup up?

any idea?

Check that the HS is mounted properly and make sure you diddent put too much ASIII on your cpu. And also make sure you have no kinks and that your radiator isnt blocked and that your pump is actually working.

What motherboard? What are ambient temps? 36C case temp is pretty hot to start with... Lower that and your core temps will go down too.

Yikes! That high. Yeah, I would reseat the block again and recheck everything. But then again, I'm no expert. But check out Cooling-The Definitive FAQ (http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=178072) and Install Guide (http://www.wc101.com/guides/installguide/). Hope that helps.

I am not using any case fan. so that the case temp is pretty high. if I open case, it's not that high. besides, I have 2 fkn WD HDz. they can fry eggz. I just need quietness. I think I mounted the wb well. cuz I used da ruler..

did you tighten the waterblock enough?

58 is too hot? I thought 58 is fine... someone on another thread said that 70 would be as high as he'd go?

mine was (unfortunately) up to 65 the other night..

On WC, I think it's a little high. On air, that's an acceptable temp.

Pally or Tbred?

My Pally 2100 was at 52c on air with a cheap Volcano 7 and at 48c on water with a DD Maze 1 and a DD 120mm cooling cube. My 1700 Tbred at a 12.5 multi was around 40c on water. The pallys are hot as hell. I can't wait to see when the 2 pally's I have are folding away on air how hot the room is going to be.

58 is too high. Ideally you want to keep it under 50, 55 at the most. After that IME you're risking stability problems.

Looks to be a Tbred as it's a 0306. I run an 0250 2100 and it's up to 51C full load with a case temp of 37C. My room is hot though (28-30C) which is what I blame it on. During the winter, this setup keeps the CPU at about 6C above ambient. My advice to you is to install some fans. Grab some silent ones (~24 decibels or lower) and set up a pair of intakes and a pair of exhausts. That should lower your temps.

ok, I just rebuilt my setup. now, if I open case, it's 45C idle. is it a reasonable temp.? i guess i really need some air flow in my case. but the heater core occupied my intake fan position. should I just put 2 exhaust fans?

I would absolutely put some exhaust fans in. And leave your side panel off, if it helps. Some people prefer having theirs on, but they generally have a good, balanced "wind-tunnel" throughput of air, which you do not appear to have, yet.
Are you running single fan or push-pull on your HC intake? And is your HC shrouded?

Then use your 120 hc fan as your intake and add a couple 80 exhaust. I would check your water temp. If your water is 33C then yes, 45 cpu is reasonable. If your water is 20 then no(bad mount, poor flow, etc.) If you want to get the cpu cooler you need to get the water cooler. Get a stronger fan or add another, or get a bigger hc.

Did you ever say what your ambient temp is? That's going to be your baseline.

the case temp is usually around 37C. Room Temp is around 70F, I guess. it's pretty hot these days

I purposly put too much AS3 on my chip and I'm getting 37c load temps (with case open). I have some mods to do, so I'll put on the right amount when I do that. Look at my sig for details.

still 45c for a watercooling system is WAY to much...
