LCD monitors

ok. i live in CAnada, and my dad wants to get an LCD monitor. Something around 17" and has to be at a good price. This monitor has to be decent as to where it wont go out in a year, and wont have unfocused lines through it.

So basically what im asking is, what is a good monitor for the price? preferably 17" or 18" price range? id say anywhere up to $700 Canadian ( roughly $500 USD )

i think he just got a Benq FP767B and he lives in canada. mine is going to be delivered tomorrow :D

ya, i will ask ciaos kid then how his monitor turns out.
The thing i am looking for is quality, from experience. as in what others have to say aobut good monitors. Just like when i asked for a good CRT at a certain price range, they named me 3 models, the mitsubishi, the sony an dviewsonic p95F+
