Just wondering what's the diffrence between the two. I need a new heatsink for my AMD Athlon XP 1700+, I have a MSI KM2M motherboard and also a fan reccommendation to put on it would be appreciated. I'll plan on overclocking it.

Thanks in advance ;)

Yes. The only diference is that the SLK-800A uses the socket lugs to mount itself in place and the SLK-800U uses mounting holes around the socket. U stands for Universal as in it can be used for both AMDs and Intels. The Tt Smart Fan II works very well on this SLK-800. If you're not concerned about noise, you can go with the Tornado, but it's quite loud.
