Hello,

I'd appreciate some help from you guys...

I have a problem with overclocking my P4P800 DX ...
I can overclock my 2.6C to 3.2+ GHz... and it will work ok, I test it with Memtest86 and then run WinXP and all is good...
until at one point power down, then power up...
and get the dreaded:
"BIOS checksum error...
Starting recovery... "

then it asks for ROM image on CD or floppy... and I can NOT do anything else but to flash it... :(

It first happened with 1008.001 (beta)... I thought that this is a problem with the BIOS update, then flashed it with 1007..., then 1008.004 (beta)....
for a while 1008.004 worked fine, but this morning happened again...
What I noticed that it happens ONLY when I overclock... and ONLY after I change the overclock to a different overclock :)...
this morning for example I changed memory settings and set to DDR400...

Anyonelese has this issue ?
I'd appreciate some advice !
:(

Hey, I have the same issue with my Asus P4P800 Deluxe as you... and also my friend has the same problem with his Asus P4P800 non-Deluxe...

(I have an Asus P4P800 Deluxe, P4 2.4C, Thermaltake 480w Power Suply, GF3 Ti200...)

It happened to me 30min after insert into the Motherboard my SB Audigy... Before inser the audigy, never happened to me, and i tried a lot of overclocking, even 2600,2800,3000,3200, changing the DDR speed a lot of times, and never happened that "Bios Checksum Error" before inserting my SB Audigy. Maybe it's a luck thing... nothing about the audigy... i don't know... i have to make more tests.

Well, when I inserted the audigy, and when apeared that error, after 1 hour of rebooting, updating bioses automatically by the motherboard... i tried to remove the audigy, and now works perfectly (only i have tested about 3-4hours)

I know that it's very difficult that the problem was the audigy, but i don't know what more it can be, maybe overclocking... I'm not sure... Any idea?

PD: My friend has an Asus P4P800-non deluxe without audigy hehe and he had the same problem as me... so i don't know...

I could be totally wrong but maybe the bios battery is dead? I know the motherboard is brandnew but could the battery need to be replaced?
