I just purchased this motherboard along with my 2400+ and 2 sticks of 256MB pc2700 ddr ram. after I have everything installed and fire up the comp, it would start and either have single beeps every 3-5 secs or so or it would not beep at all and have nothing show up on screen. I went to put in my old pc2100 256MB ddr ram on to this mobo and it would be able to post properly. So at this point I thought it was the ram problem...
so I went to put in my old mobo and old cpu and use the new ram.. and it posted fine so I am here stuck thinking why doesn't the new ram work with the mobo. I've tried all the different combination I can position the ram (1-3, 1-2,2-3) however I can't figure out why it doesn't post with the new ram. please help me :)

First and foremost nVidia finally released an approved memory list for the nForce2 chipset. You can find it here:

go here it will help

The NForce 2 chipset is very very picky with ram I mean so picky that its not only the brand but you have to go to the model number or even where the chip was made like the the samsung ram only the made in Korea chip will work, and some kingston(which was pulled from the NForce2 aproved list of ram). The best ram i have seen for the board is Mushkin DDR PC3200 222 - Black Hi Perf Level II

ah good thing my old ram (pc2100) can work on this mobo and do 166 :D I guess I'll use the crappy 2700 on my old comp.
