Gigabyte 8knxp + Slk 900u

Does anyone know for sure if an SLK 900U will fit on a 8KNXP?

"SLK-900-U is designed to fit all Intel P4-478 motherboards with or without the stock retention bracket that came with motherboard. So far, we have not found any boards not compatible with SLK-900-U. If you've found any, we would appreciate if you could report them to here."

Therefore, Yes, the SLK-900U fits on all Intel boards that conform to Intel's bracket standard (which as of now is ALL of them, which includes your Gigabyte Board).
