Heat sink glue?

I've got a processor and it appears the heat sink was attached with some sort of glue.....either way I can't get it off, is there some kind of solvent that can be used or is it on there permanently?

I'd think that the heat generated by the CPU would cause the glue to un-stick.

Well it clearly didn't since I can't get it off...maybe it's more of a putty?

Stick it in a static bag and then put it in the freezer for 20mins, then remove it and the glue should have gone brittle, and you should be able to pop it off with a screw driver or something.

yeh you might just have to pry it off with an xacto knife or razor blade
