He has a nice 1.4GHz T-Bird in his room, but he won't fold. Jerk...

I've tried to convince him on several occations. He knows what its all about, but like he said, he's an "evil *******".
Think I can convince him? or as a kind brother knowing deep in his heart that he want's to help... I should sneak a hidden client in there without him knowing :D.
Of course, I won't do that... but I have to convince him. He just won't give in! Suggestions?
Borg 'im without him noticing. I did that to my half sister...

You want him to, so he automatically doesn't. Sibling logic here ;)
Just borg his computer when he's not there, it's your families computer, so I don't think you would really get into trouble (unless your parents will side with your brother). It might not be entirely ethical though..
Its not like it will interupt his use of the computer in any way. Just don't say anything about it for a few days and then when he is out just install it and hide it.
My little brother was exactly like that.
His excuse was if he left it on for like hours it would slow down his computer, well he was right. :) It was some crappy Fic mobo. Anyway I am awaiting an AX-7 heatsink and he will be folding like 12 hours a day.
On the other hand, my 11 year old brother runs his pc 24/7 and tries to recruit people. :)
So basically make sure it won't slow his pc down after long periods of use and if all else fails money may work. :D

The way I look at it, if you ever borg a computer without anyone knowing it, make sure that you have enough computer parts to fix it if it burns up.
I know it adds stress on a CPU, and if it blows... well I will just buy him a used pally 1700 (very cheap).
The rule of thumb is "Get permission first." However, when it comes to family members, all bets and ethics are off. If I touch their computer, it folds. :D

I agree with Wedo Family dont count when it comes to ethics. Most of us have built some if not all of our siblings rigs. They owe it to us one way or another.

Heck my brother (2 yrs younger) let me borg it. I asked he said ok. Now if he said no it would prolly be folding anyways. He likes to see how many WUs he can crank out.
BTW: His is filled 95% with my parts, lol. All he bought for it was Patriot 512MB DDR2700 and his 128MB GeForce 4 MX. He had my old tbird 950 I actually gave him was too slow so I gave him a free 1600+, arent I nice. Lol. It now folds better. BTW: Any PC I touch gets borged somehow.... haha.
Me: *puts cd with no lable in Family member's pc*
Family Member: "Hey whats that CD?"
Me: "Drivers"
FM: "Ok"
I later tell them and then I tell them how it didnt do jack to their PC since I make sure it can run it fine b4 I install it. I dont want to give F@H a bad name, so if the PC wont handle it for some reason I dont borg it. Thats my 1 exception....
BTW: My borg CD has bat files for XP and Win 98. Win XP/2k also puts it as a service and and the borg is done within 3 sec literally. I love bat files. :p

That sounds EXACTLY like my brother. I just built him this computer from scratch after ordering all the parts for him and everything. I then put F@H on it (of course) and then he saw me looking at my stats on his computer (we have one cable modem and it was hooked up to his comp at the time) and he gets all mad saying how it doesn't do anything for him and that its stupid. So he made me delete it (I had to hes 2 years older and like 100 pounds heavier than me :( ) I'll put it back on before he goes off to college in August though ;)

I'm sure I can sneak it on his computer... suggestions for making it impossible to find? I will let EMIII do its disappearing act... I know I need to make the folding folder something other than the obvious "F@H Client"... maybe something like "Shuttle Drivers" or something related to hw on his pc.

I put the stuff in the windows cursors folder, hehe. Noone n00bish goes in the windows folder unless they are stupid since they will screw it up. Also I put it as a durvice on 2k/xp. Its stealthed except for the process can be seen under processes...
I built all the comps for my family members, so I'll be darned if they're not gonna fold for me ;)

That's a very good idea except call it shuttle32.exe or something even more cryptic. If he's using w2k or XP, make it a service install. It's invisible unless you look it up in the Task Mangager or Services. Put FAH in a hidden folder and set all folders to hide hidden folders. Just write down the path so you can path EMIII to it from your machine.
BTW which Shuttle did you build him?
I put together a Shuttle for my 23 yr old daugher (see sig) and it was understood that FAH was part of the deal.

I think he's talking about seeing it in the task manager as fah3console, would it be possible to just rename the core and client? Im sure with a bit of tweaking...

Renaming the console client shouldn't be a problem but renaming the core will just cause the client to redownload a new one.
