Darn...this is just

Trying to run a 2.4C on a IS7 (latest BIOS) with 1x512Mb Apacer PC3200.

With Default settings (DDR@400) everything's fine.

@ 250FSB and 1:3 divider (DDR@333) no probs.

@ 250FSB and 5:4 divider (DDR@400), windows setup gets stuck at "preparing to copy files", seemingly no matter what RAM timings I use. :bang head

Whats the difference between a 400 FSB result when using a 1:1 or a 5:4?? I just don't get it...Is it this "Game Accellerator" rubbish that's messing things up?

Thx in advance for any help guys, I just really wanna run it at 3.0/DDR400....

Yeah, the Game Accelerator basically makes the timings stricter by bypassing and since the Apacer probably's rated for CAS2.5 or 3, you'll probably have to leave it off.

BTW, it's most likely this is the case since you can run the RAM at DDR333, but not DDR400.

Thx

In the latest BIOS I can set it to AUTO or to one of the specific settings ("turbo", "street racer", etc) - It doesn't actually seem to have a disabled function...:(

Should I go back to the second to last BIOS?

I believe you should set it to auto.

I kept getting a reboot problem when I would try 250 fsb and 5:4 ratio till i got the game accelerator bios and disabled the bottom two setting and left the rest of them to auto, was finally able to keep system stable at 250 fsb, now i just have a cooling issue preventing me from going faster =)

The last post (by extro) of THIS THREAD (http://forum.abit-usa.com/showthread.php?threadid=15352) on ABIT's USA forums sorted it for me

Once I disabled the Command Per Clock setting in the Game Accelerator section, it's boots, installs, prime's and runs lovely and stable. Thank god for that, it was getting on my nerves...:p

I have a cooling issue preventing me from overclocking ;-)

CPU gets up around 66 celcius, Using retail heatsink atm, have a thermalright slk900 on its way with a vantec 80 mm 5500 rp fan, and a thermaltake tiger 1 for the north bridge.
