I've got a 750 Duron that scisoft sandra reports as being a "spitfire"(1999).
The thing also states "(600-1G)" and "(1.5-1.7)". Does this mean we can change any bridges other than the L1s to make it as a 850 duron before bios detection ? Also ... used pencil for now on L1 bridges.

Yes we can. L6, L3, L4 are ones which tells the defaults. Check http://www.tomshardware.com.

changing the bridges is nothing else than configuring your processor by hand, in other words overlocking.
that doesn't mean the cpu will work perfectly with your change, same as overclocking. one thing is done by pencil on the cpu the other one is done by jumper, dips or bios on the board. same effect. although is easier on the board(my oppinion) ;D

Thanks for the help ! But does anyone know of a site for "oc'rs anonymous" ?.
I'm now running at 1016 with the cpu at 700 and fsb at 145. The temp is stable at 17c but thats in front of an open window and approx. 43* outside.
I've also got one side removed. By the way, this is on the abit kt7a.

Nope !!!! just the average chrome orb/fan. That temp outside I mentioned was in Fahrenheit. Now probably closer to 38*f. I can't try to much with a tnt m64 card w/agp freq. at 96mhz (x2=192mhs.).

Jughead, it's not uncommon to see fluctuations and MHz drops after an overclock. I use Sandra SiSoft as well, I had it posting at 800 when I first overclocked, but Sandra would only read 799Mhz.

It's not a bad thing and nothing much to worry about. Just make sure you're not getting 400Mhz wen you overclock to 1Ghz ;)

BTW.
What state/Country do you live in?! 38*F Thats a lil cold!

I live in a small town about 100 miles south of pittsburgh. (In the mountain range). I did notice with sandra, at one time I had a reading of 998.9 for cpu, but posted at 1000 even. I've also noticed my voltage change between what I set and what the bios reports, like I'm runnin the core at 7.775v but sandra as well as the bios reports it at 1.92v. Is that the same on any other kt7a's?

By the way ozzie, I meant celsius, not centigrade. Now I understand the liqiud nitro. !!!!!

Thanks for the correction !!! haha. Actually it was 1.775 volts. I had started out to ask about the mods on the bridges for when I clear the cmos, I thought it might help to have a higher clock speed set then. But for now, I've got the full range from 500 mhz to 1050. Just can't boot at 1100 mhz.. But then win '98 se doesn't like 1050 neither. (that's w/8.5 on core and 3.6 on i/o)

L7 will tell the vcore voltage as well, but the dude prior is right with the other bridge banks. go fool ur mobo with that mofo bra. just Vantec her though, and she'll anything for u, well maybe 1 thing, but the speed is orgasmic.

good luck,
