View Full Version : AMD 1,2 GH, 200 or 266Hz..
I'm having troubble understanding if the current selling AMD 1,2 Gh supports 200 or 266Mhz system bus. According to AMDs site it supports both. According to other sites the 266Mhz edition hasn't been released yet?
Any one knows how this is?
And if the chips are different, are there any markings on the chip that tells wether it is a 200 or a 266Hmz?

It is my understanding that the new ones I think called Athlon-C support 266 right out the box whereas the regular ones support 200 out the box but you can overclock em so that they do 266 but results seem to vary and of course not everyone wants to overclock.
It's the same core
only on 200MHz versions the bios recognizes it as 12x100, whereas on 266 versions it will be recognized as 9x133. If you connect the L1 bridges you can unlock it and run it at 9x133 or possibly even 8x150 with the right mobo and memory.

Yo
P.s.:
It's the same core
