Lite-On FS-020 Is Discontinued! Better Get One Soon!

I called the US distributor for Lite-On Enclosures inquiring about the FS-020 and he told me they are not being made anymore. They have a few hundred left and that is it! There is a 5U case to replace it but who knows what that will be like. I'm not saying you need to get one tomorrow just know they are OUT OF PRODUCTION FOREVER!

Any recommedations on where to order? Where did you get your case from?

I think you will probably still be able to get one next month, but you never know. Once the retail channel is depleted, that is pretty much it. The reason I was given for it's demise, is that it is over 5 years old and the tooling to make them is starting to break down, not so sure how much I believe that about the tooling but, it is what it is. I hope the successor is every bit as good. I did try to pry as to what it would be like, he said he didnt think it was going to be as wide as the FS-020 which is a bad thing.

Well, that sucks. I did have my mind set on this case. I guess it's ok since the price tag was a little high and that's the reason it's not sitting in my desk right now. I'm sure someone will listen to overclockers(yet again) and design something else we'll all drool over.

OH MY GOD WOW HOLY ****!

I just bought a fs020 pre modded with the front and 2 back fan holes punches, with 3 silent 120mm fans, im guessing the same ones that come with the swiftech which are rated at 28dba and 53cfm. It was 69.90 at frys in palo alto, it was missing the left side panel, that is if your looking at it from the front. GREAT DEAL, im really happy because i emailed liteon and they said to call www.casedepot.com and they would get me a side panel WOOHOO!!! This case is gargantuan, its mammoth and horridly ugly, I LOVE IT! Cant wait to get it all setup, im ordering some clearflex and fittings, i plan on cutting a 120mm side panel hole. Now that i saw this about them being discoed im really glad i bought mine. :cool:

The most disappointing bit is about the successor of the FS020. Smaller? Next thing you know they'll be rigging it for 80mm fans.
Does Lite-On not see where the strength of their product came from? :(
