waterblock design question

I'm going to be building a block based on the "coper cap" design. I have some copper sheet laying around. Whats better 1/4" or 1/8" for the base?
 
You might try searching for it, but I think thicker is better. Depends on what kind of flow you are planning also I'd guess.
 
well for sure the 1/8 base will perform really well, owen stevens made one that performed great! check billA's testing and owens article.

Thanks guys, they only cost me $4 to make so I made one of each. With slighty different designs as far as turbulance goes. I'll just try em both and compare.
