Here is my problem; on a clean installation of Windows-Xp Pro with Service-Pack 1a,
installing InCd after installing Nero causes a hard-crash of the entire system. I can
recover only by restoring an image-backup of the C:\ drive.

I've tried this both before and after disabling the Windows-Xp "built-in" CD-writing
services, both via the Control-Panel, Admin-Tools and via the "Properties"
page of the CD-Writer Drive.

1. I install Nero and re-boot the system; all is apparently OK.

2. I then install InCd, and re-boot. When the system comes up, it gets as far as
displaying the desktop and splash-screens for Zone-Alarm (firewall) and InCd.

Then the system goes to a blue-screen hard crash. Ctrl-Alt-Del does not work;
I must use the hardware Reset-button. If I let the system try to boot after the
hard-reset, it simply crashes again.

I've tried the installs with different versions of Nero (5.5.9.16 and 5.10.10.35) and InCd
(the version on CD with Nero 5.5.9.16 and with 4.0.1.6). All result in the same crash.
(Also have PowerDVD installed - don't know if this is relevant).

From what I've read, other people use Nero and InCd with Win-Xp, without problems.
So, this is apparently something I've done with some obscure Windows setting
or "something" Win-Xp doesn't like about InCd.

Has anybody lived through one like this? Anyone have a clue, cause I sure don't.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I just installed last night and had the same problem. I found a reference on a Taiwanese web site that says NOT to install the nForce IDE driver as this causes the crash and is NOT a necessary install.
I may try this tonight; let me know what you find.
