Can I get 1ghz???

Ok I just bought a T-Bird 800 and checked the colour and it wasnt blue or green but a copper colour but did flash a kinda pink-purple so thought yea this is Copper. Took it home had another look by tilting it even further and it turns green (meaning it is probably Aluminium.)
My face turned red with anger but I thought I`d still have a go OC it. I aint done it yet but with it being Alu will this hamper my OC drastically? Is there still a chance I can get it to 1gig?
I`ll be using a Abit KT7A Mobo with a FOP38 with Artic Silver 2.
Any help will be greatly appreaciated.

Overclocking success really depends on the CPU. Just try it and see how high you can hit with that CPU. I've seen people with "green-cores" hitting 1GHz...some better with proper cooling and voltage mod.

read an article a couple of weeks ago that stated that the red tint chips are coming from Germany and every tbird made after June of last year would be copper interconnects (Texas and Germany)
