AMD vs Intel

K, I am purchasing a new computer, and lets say that an AMD Athlon 900 and a PIII 900 were the EXACT same price, which one would be faster?
e.g Would a PIII boot quicker then an Athlon, or would an Athlon open programs/apps quicker than a PIII?

Depends on what you are going to be doing with the PC. I.E. Are you going to use it for a Server, Gameing, Internet, etc?

The T-Bird will do better in most programs, (almost everything actually), but some applications optimised for P3 then the P3 will run faster. Games and programs heavy on FPU power will run much better on the T-Bird.
