Intel newb question on dual channel

Is this right? In order to enable the dual channel slots 1,3 or 2,4 must be used..
Does it matter which combo, 1,3 or 2,4??

Either will work.

all you have to do is match the colors on the Dimm slots. On my IC7 1&3 are blue; 2&4 are purple. I have my mem in the blue slots. The mobo will recognize this automatically and initialize dual channel mode. You will see "dual channel mode" on your post screen when your rig boots.
