Does useing your SATA>IDE adpator Slow windows boot?

ive been useing the adptor with my wd160gb and my abit nf7-s, and when the drive is hooked up it makes the windows screen(the black one witht he gray moving bar) stop completly for 2 mins then its boots. the drive also wont show in the sata raid bios, but it Shows in windows ok..

ive tryed the jumper in slave, master and cs, and it does that..

Anyone have any ideas?

Western Digital drives, right? Try completely removing the jumper as that is the setting for master w/ no slave attached. I am using 2 WD 80GB SE drives with SATA->ATA convertors (RAID0) and windows loads very fast (under 30 sec).
