Hi, I was hoping someone could give me a run through on getting my multiplier working.

My current system is as follows:
Asus A7M266
128Megs of 2100 memory
1.2Ghz Tbird (200 fsb) L1 bridges connected

I've read through the book, and I've read many web sites on how to go about unlocking the multiplier setting's, where everybody says connect the L1 bridges. Even though they are, I still can't adjust my Multiplier, and was wondering if there are any other bridges that I'd need to connect, or if there's anything I need to change.

Thanks, Kagetsu.

Have you made sure that the bridges aren't cross connected? If you used lead, some pencils work better than others....I recommend a conductive pen :)

Have you tried changing them in your BIOS, or with jumpers on your board? Your manual for the mobo should let you know what options you have.

I've made sure that none are cross connected. ^_^ And the Mobo supports both BIOS and dip switch multiplier switching. I haven't tried the switches, but eitherway, it should work as I'm able to change the FSB frequency. The Mobo has a certain setting to enable the Bios settings or to use the switches, I've double checked it to make sure. Maybe I'll try a friends CPU which can overclock on my MB. If anybody else can help, please do. ^_^

From what I have read and researched about the a7M266; the multiplier is locked and not changeable, regardless of the processor. I was considering buying this board until I heard about this.

At first I didn't believe it since it was an Asus product, but every review that I have read has confirmed this. The latest and most in depth review I have read was at www.amdmb.com. Here is the link

I'm pretty sure that they will update this in a future bios.
