soundblaster live drive cable

MY flat ribbon cable from sound blaster cards to the live drive ( 5.25 front bay thingy) is bad .
what im wondering is since the connector looks like a standard IDE connector , if i could buy a very nice rounded and shielded IDE cable to replace it ( would make the inside of my system look much nicer and match the other stuff too)

what do ya think?

yep, A regular ide cable will work

Let me know if that works for you I also would like to use a rounded cable. (Why does creative labs tell us not to do this?)
