lord howdy,
thanks to everyone for the help. i have my Duron 800 running at 1gig on a Biostar M7vkb mobo, 256mb PC-133 SDRAM, 51 degrees celsius, Plextor 8x4x32 CDRW, 48xCDROM, 100mhz FSBx10multiplier? (not real sure here...) anyway, i had a friend solder the L-7 bridges and then we soldered the needed connections on L-6 and L-4. We used an X-acto knife with a new blade to cut the bridges. Although they still looked shiny the chip posted immediately at 1gb...it also overrode the FSB and multipliers i had set in the boards BIOS-- i was running it at 102x8=816 and i did not reset the Bios before I put the modified chip back in. I booted, saw it post at 1000 and went immediately into BIOS to check it out and found that it had overrode the 102x8 setting...cool, huh? i am going for 1.2 tomorrow. BTW, soldering beats the pencil trick or conductive ink any day...
this rocks..
