Hi I'm new to this O/Cing but I have tried to read most of the forum first.

I have a 900 Tbird it could be green or blue I am not sure I only bought it last week.
Fan GlobalWin 32
mobo Asus A7V
256MB of PC100 RAM (could be a problem unless I leave the FSB alone).
sb live
Netgear NIC 10/100
SCSI CD-R card (symbios or something)
Winfast 32MB Geforce 256 DDR

Ok can I simply change the multiplier from 9 to 10? will this increase the temperature much ? because I already have CPU stable at 45C and about 47C full load running @ 900.

Also do I have to unlock the cpu first with a pencil?

Thanks sorry for all the stupid questions.

You've got it right. The only thing I see is that you're running warm at stock speed. You might want to get the temp's down first. As long as you run the RAM at HostClk, you should be ok with what you have.

Yeah, u need to unlock your T-bird first, unless u have been very lucky to find a unlocked T-bird. Before u try to unlock, try to change the multiplier, and see what happens. If nothing happen ( Just boot's normal, or a black screen), then u have to unlock it.
Luck 2 u!

if u just want to oc it 100mhz u can try to up the fsb. but i would have bought a new heatsink/fan if i was u. the temp should not rise over 45c

Looks like you need to get some better cooling first off. The FOP 32 should do the trick. I have a T-bird 900 and when I had a FOP 32 on it my idle was around 28C and load about 43C. How many other fans do you have (case intake/exhaust)? I put a hole in the side of my case blowing air directly on the HSF and lowered the temps by 6C. Also tried to arrange the cables to allow the hot air to move to the top of the case and then out by the exhuast. My T-bird will lock up windows at 45C.

Then after you unlock your bridges you shouldn't have any problem.

I have cut 2x50mm holes in the lower plastic front of the case and behind them I have installed 2x80mm fans which are sucking air in at about 25CFM each I guess? then I have another 80mm fan behinde the CPU above the printer port which I cut a 50x50mm square hole for this is a better fan and probably blows out about 30CFM.

I have the FOP32 as the HSF and thats about it apart from the PSU blowing out. These fans definately improved the temp in the case but it is still about 5C hotter then ambient room temperature. I thought about putting another 50mm fan blowing through the side onto the HSF and maybe one at the top of the case, but I thought they would disturb the wind tunnel effect.

I have had rock solid performance even at 47C my windows hasn't crashed yet.

Should I put more case fans in before I try something like the FOP38 HSF? and before I close my bridges.
