View Full Version : What is the point of AMD CPU to open the L1 bridges?
Why do they open in the first place...to prevent people from overclocking or is there some other reason?

I think they do it, so the average person can't overclock, and wreck anything, with out first doing some research. Rather than being a hinderance to overclocking, they are probably saving the uninformed overclocker wannabe from destroying their computer, and protecting their good name.
Like Deviant said, all marketing tactics, and this is just another one to attract some more overclockers. Good choise if you ask me, not that we will see these conservant Intel guys do this in the near future...
