I bought a Samtron (samsung) 98BDF today. I took it home , unpacked it connected it to my computer. It seems to me that the color is a little washed out but thats not my main problem. My main problem are the curving bands of interlacing lighter and dark shades that are especially noticeable on black. They flicker and are most prominent on the right and left sides of the monitor Any suggestions?

I tried all the settings in my monitor menu. I tried playing around with the refresh rate and the resolution. What's wrong with it? Is it just defective or could this be my P.O.S video card? It's a Transcend SIS 315E 32MB SDRAM 4X AGP. Here's the newegg
link (http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?DEPA=&submit=Go&description=Transcend+SIS+315E+3)

P.S. - If you need more info, just ask.

If the monitor has been shipped, see if it has a degauss button and use it once and see if the image quality improves.

try degausing, maybe up the refresh rate.
other than that, i wouldnt know what to do. try it on a different comp, before you take it back.
