hi there,
i've saw on online overclocking database that the duron 600 overclocks to 1GH like duron 800?
should i bye the 600? instead of spending more money on the same 800cpu?

i plan to overlock, but i cant afford new fan, so could the durun 600 outperform the 800, with stock fan?
need feedback, please

I think u should go for the 600MHz, cuz when it's unlocked u should have the a very good chance to hit the gig, when u get some better cooling. It also sounds like this is your first overclock, am I right? Then I really think u should go 600MHz, cuz if u fry it u haven't lost so many money!

thanx for the reply,
and no, its my third processor (to be)
my first was p2 350@433
second was celeron 2 600@990 (i want to sell it, because i want amd!)

so basicly your saing that durun 600 is exactly like other durons?

There are no guarantee though. If you're lucky, you will hit 1gig easily, but you may get stuck at less than 800 if the CPU is not a lucky one. Maybe if you push it hard with extreme cooling, then you'll increase your chances of hitting a gig barrier. Overclocking really depends alot on luck so...all I can say is Good Luck.

Sorry about the newbie thing....

Yeah BASICLY the the 600 should be the same as the 800, when the multiplier is unlocked. But as the dude above said, luck is a big thing when u are an overclocker. There is something about the numbers on the CPU's, some should be better than others, but I don't know witch numbers u should look for.
Good Luck
