I dont know about that card....Its better than the 9700 pro BUT It would seem more benefical to get the 9800 pro with 256 ram.I want my Half life 2 and Doom 3 to look top notch.
Hmmmm.... 9800 pro 256meg is $454 on pricewatch. That's nearly $200 for - when both are overclocked - a not-so-spectacular performance difference. And most games don't even utilize 128megs of texture memory yet.
This is a great deal, I'm tempted to go for it.

guys, would it be worth it for me to jump from my r9700np for a r9800np?? how likely will i get pro speeds?? i can sell my card for much more around here and even get some profit, i just wanna know if its worth the hassle
If its free or profit then do it right now.
And unless Im mistaken, sapphire and ati cards 9700 and up are identical... aren't they?
well theres a 9800 np at newegg for 10$ less then that link..with free shipping...its a sapphire, and its oem, but some people prefer that. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?catalog=48&DEPA=1&submit=property&mfrcode=0&propertycode=&propertycodevalue=4884,3668

ya that saphire deal looks great but i must wonder if they're using the same core as the 9800pro like these BBA cards are or if they're using 9700 cores, and maybe even slower ram, i guess i'd feel safer with a BBA card, PhobMX you should definately get one of these, the core overclockability alone is worth it not to mention the extra boost in speed it just beeing a 9800

If I buy a BBA card, do I have a better chance at getting better ram and a better core?

reading lithans post might answer your question...
well guys you convinced me, ill get rid of this r9700np ASAP now that these are heavily overpriced here now, then right on for that saphire r9800np :D Classifieds site, here i go...
thnx a lot
no no no i hear the ati cards have the 3.0 inf(sp) ram and that they reach VERY poor oc speeds. The guys with the 400+core @ 9800 pro bios have the saphire cards with 2.8 -3.3 samsung memory
