Hi all, i just recieved a new tb 1g cpu from multiwave and i tried it and i get no picture. The comp starts and runs with the fans but no monitor output. I put back my tb 750 and entered the bios and set the cpu soft menu at the lowest which is 500mhz. But the 1g cpu still won't work. I upped my kt7 raid to the new uz 103b1 bios, i least i think thats the newest. Still nothing. I made sure at least 5 times that it was seated correctly, etc.. Can anyone tell me if theres something i'm doing wrong or if the cpu is dead. I called multiwave tech and they couldn't help, they said it might be dead, but i have to go thru Amd for a replacement, since i got the retail box. Any help would be much appreciated.

Kt7 raid (uz bios)
SB live 5.1 Xgamer
Creative Encore 12x DVD
Annhilator 2 GTS
sony spressa cdrw
45 g 7200 WD harddrive
if the chip is ok you should be able to boot and go into the bios with out any problem if your 750 is working ok then so should your 1ghz check and see if any of the pin`s are bent
i got a black screen too when i tried my new tbird1.1ghz at 750mhz. i got it fixed with doing this:
try pressing the insert key while booting and then go into bios and change the multipilere to 10x then be sure that the voltage is set too cpu default! then exit and save changes. If not that help try clearing the cmos.
if your running a 1.1 tbird then default is a multiplier of 11
is your mb an abit kt7a or just a kt7

Thanx for the help but i tried clearing the cmos, but still the same. I tried hitting the insert and delete keys but the monitor gets no signal, my monitor light stays yellow. I've tried everything i can think of, the only other thing i can do before i contact amd is i can take the cpu to a local comp store and have them try it. The only bad thing is they charge 15$. Although it would be worth it if i wasn't so sure it was dead. Anyways thanx for the help, if anyone has any other ideas please let me know.
Mike.

I have EXACTLY the same problem as u have!!
I have tried to unlock my tb 1Ghz by closing the L1 bridges, by doing this very carefully, and putting back my cpu in itīs socket, nothing happened when i turned on te power.. only beeb stop beeb in a loop.
So i cleaned my cpu right a way, tried to start but nothing happened, no signal to the monitor, nothing.
Now, 2 days later I have been arround in some forums en met more people with the same problem, I have tried everything, every jumper setting etc..
I think i am going to buy myself a duron 600 for $60 and i will take a look if that works..
btw i have a asus a7v pro mobo, 1 ghz tb, 256 PC133 kingston, gf2 mx..
any suggestions??
if ur using WZ BIOS make sure your CPU Fan is plugged into FAN 1 -- or it won't boot later BIOS Fixes and it's selectable in BIOS FAN 1 is the right of the two not the one on the CPU side
