Can I download more than one WU at a time?

On the weekend I will be loosing my internet access. I'm not really concerned about my slower computers, but my 2 P4's will eat threw what ever WU they are working on in no time. Other than running the client multiple times on the same computer, is there away to download multiple WUs?

Yes you can 'cache' wu's. All you have to do is start up more than one instance of the folding client.

add the -local tag, and remember to configure the other ones for a different machine id number.

that should keep you busy for a little while.

Yes and no. To get multiple units, you MUST install multiple text consoles but, you don't need to run them all at the same time. What you can do is this:

Make 3 folders on your desktop (assuming you have a folding folder somewhere else already, which makes 4 total)

Start each client, one at a time. You can either fill out the questions, making sure to change the machine ID for each folder, or, copy your existing client config file to each folder but make sure you again change the machine ID with each instance. Once you do that, let the client get some work, then kill it. Do this for each instance. Then, when you have no connection, you can start each instance one by one as they finish. When your connection comes back, just start each client til it sends its work, kill it and delete it.

you can also take what nikhsub said one step further. guess the average time it takes to complete a WU then creat a task at each time interval when you think each client will finish its WU, then about the time one finishes, the next client should start up and start crunching and so on.

Thanks alot for you help guys. I will set up multiple text clients with different ID's now while I still have a chance to get them. I'll be back online on Monday and I'll post how things went.
