Exactly, multiple PS fans are pure BS. There is no need for more than one fan to ventilate a box the size of an ATX power supply. But as 2 is larger than one (and 4 larger than both!) and most people's decision making lies at this superficial level, multiple fans abound.

If you want to see what the real solution is, look at the Fortron 120mm-equipped supplies. This is far and away the best solution, as it allows us as much airflow as we desire in combination with the lowest noise floor. I hope Fortron extends this stratedy to all their products, and although I know better than to expect that other makers will employ as astute of decision making, hope they do the same.
