video editing overlay question

My friend wants me to post this for him. Hope you can help him, excuse his bad grammar.

I was wonder is there a way to shut down the overlay on windows movie maker so I am able to take screen caption from my computer, or if you have any software suggestion to help me get ride of this problem.

Not that I know of. THe only way I can think of is to go into Windows Media Player, turn of the overlay there, play the video and take a screenshot.

To turn off overlay in windows media player, goto tools->option->performance->advanced->uncheck "Use Overlays".
