My friend said I should buy retail box cause it's direct from AMD manufacture so the chip come in its original form rather than OEM, he said some store might change some component on the OEM chip. Preferably i want to buy AMD cpu that is multiplier unlock from manufacture...is there anyway to identify what store have its lock or unlock? Any suggestions?

I bought an oem 650 Duron at a computer show at my local junior college and it's at 1017 now with little trouble. I'm going to look at cooling options this weekend and see if I can get some stability @ 1100.

oem bra, no sense in buying a box and a warranty (which u r going to void right?)....save the bread, and use it to buy a vantec to slap on her.

good luck,
