P4P800 Deluxe and 800FSB 3.0 Ghz CPU Overclocking problems

I've been having problems OC'ing my new board - OC'ing is a new thing for me. I have ASUS P4P800 Deluxe with 3.0Ghz 800 FSB processor and 2x Samsung 512 DDR400 RAM as well as 2 x Seagate SATA 120GB HD on Intel RAID 0. Also using an ATI Radeon 8500 video card

The max i've been able to OC is to clock speed of 230. speeds above 240 result in windows XP freezing on loading. I can get Windows XP to load no problem at 230 and seems stable until I load everquest - then the system invariable locks requiring a reset.

This isn't a problem with no overclocking and just Turbo acceleration mode enabled.

Any suggestions - do i need to lock my AGP and PCI settings or increase my voltages for Vcore or AGP?

Any help would be great.

Are you using 1:1 mem ratio? With a 230 fsb @ 1:1, you're running your memory at DDR460. Try using 250 fsb @5:4 (DDR400) and go from there.

Get a copy of prime95 and memtest86 so your o/c is stable. You'll need to run it at least 24 hrs to make sure your system is 100% stable at the o/c speed.

You will need to lock your agp/pci to 66/33. Increasing your agp and Vcore won't help. Try setting your memory to 2.75v.

Also, what's your timings for your memory? CAS to RAS precharge should be set to 3. When you're doing extreme o/c'ing, 2.5-3-3-7 should be the lowest for stability.

I was using 1:1 mem ratio and everything else was set to auto.

Please help I cannot find the setting for he RAM RATIO 5:4 1:1 etc...

Indy500, you will not find the Ratio Setting specifically.
Goto to the DRAM frequency setting and if you are using a 800FSB CPU, then the following applies for you:
Choose 400 for 1:1 ratio
Choose 320 for 4:5 ratio
Choose 266 for 2:3 ratio
Choose Auto for ???
I think someone may correct me on the above.....I don't know what the Auto is for....

I am trying to find the ratios available for the 533 FSB CPU I have.
