The 9000/9100 are not DX9 compatible, but the 5200's DX9 features are really worthless as it'll be far too slow to use those features in the future when they're needed.
Go with a 9100 or 8500LE (they're the same card). They're much faster than the 5200 or the 9000.

I would go with a 8500LE/9100 or a ti4200 if you can stretch the extra dough. The 5200 doesnt hold a candle to either.

if you do go for the FX5200, be aware there are (2) versions of the non-ultra availbale. One with a poor 64 bit bus, one with a 128bit bus.
The positive reviews always use the one w/ the larger 128bit bus, b/c the FX5200 w/ the 64bit bus is a peice of crap. If you go w/ the FX5200, MAKE SURE you get the one w/ the larger bus:)
That being said, I'd spend the extra few $$ and grab a Ti4200 for $70....

Well, the Radeon 9500 is far better than the GeForce FX 5200.:)
Besides, you can morph some 9500s into 9700s.

I own both cards, and my 9100 is a little bit better. I'm not saying that the 9000Pro is a bad card, but it's not quite as good as the 9100.

i thought the 9100 was a card made up by third party companies?
I dont see it on the ATI website, isnt it just a 900 pro on non por with something extra.BTW the 9000 pro is a good card a friend has it and it plays ut2k3 pretty good.

I own a 9100, and my friend owns a 9000pro. His is 275/275, mine is 250/200. I get about 1000 more 3dmarks in 01 than him at stock, and at 250/250 I get almost 2500 more. Otherwise, our computers are nearly identicle.

Yes the 9100 is mainly made by 3rd party companies. but the 9100 is exactly the same as the 8500LE just a different name. the 9200 is a 9000 non pro with AGP 8X.

I don't think that was what he means.......More like seeing her as a model for Ati actually disgusts him.....He said something about getting a 9500 but has to thik about NOT getting it after seeing the picture....Heck I might be wrong...That is just how I comprehended it.

Brittney's used up ass, should be hustling for integrated graphics!

"Brittney's used up ass, should be hustling for integrated graphics!"
That's because the Britney is intended for servers, and installing a Radeon 9800 Pro in a server is like installing a high end stereo system in a NASCAR race car.
At least those Britney mobos have their own video memory, so the integrated video doesn't rob memory bandwidth.
Britney mobos with AGP do exist, though.

My bad, it goes for $82...just read about someone grabbing one for $70, but it was a re0furbished one from new-egg.

my friend has a 9000 in his mac, and it runs pretty well. (not sure if its pro or np) But with full details in UT2003 its pretty good. (although it wont go to 1600x1200, and its not his display because its a 22inch cinema display) No AA or Ansio... if macs even have that...
