Hey guys, just joined the team. I don't have any rigs crunching right now as they are all doing F@H. But since the computers at my school can't get any protiens on F@H I will make them crunch SETI.

Welcome Nitro. It'll be nice when your school computers start crunching. Hope you have as much fun here as F@H.

Welcome to the team. Why is it your school computers can't get any proteins?

I may switch one of my folders over to SETI next week. A spare PII 366 laptop that has a busted screen that no one will use. How efficient will it be?

The proxy/firewall blocks the ports for the "good protiens" (protiens that use SSE) and it will only download the regular protiens that will take days to fold.

Might be around 15 hours. The Team Benchmarks (http://www.ocsetiteam.com/other/bench.htm) are a little spotty in that area.

Give it a try. At least you'll get some wu's on the board.

Yep around 15 hours. I found a WU calculator just now. The time was from 14.5 to 15.5 (depends on the memory).
