*chime* (though you should have set this up as a poll)

I'm currently using mozilla (http://www.mozilla.org) 1.4 and mozilla mail as my client which works perfectly with my imap server.

As well it does support rules for filtering mail and has built in junk mail filters (http://www.mozilla.org/mailnews/spam.html) where you can train it to automatially filter out any spam that you get.

I think we still have a sticky at the top with all sorts of browsers, and links to them. As well as peoples two-cents about each one.

I personally like keeping a browser for browsing and a email client for email... I really dislike these 'do it all bloated browsers'... The browser of choice for me at the moment Mozilla Firebird (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firebird/release-notes.html) which was previously known as Pheonix.... This is a seriously fast, stable and small browser and the email client Thunderbird (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/thunderbird/) or Kmail

I use Opera just for browsing and Outlook for email.

Opera seems to me you need to get used to it first, before you realize how truly awesome it is. :)

my dad uses his sprint cell phone and his laptop to check his mail. Would you suggest that he use firebird?

I use Mozilla Firebird as well, replaced my default browser of IE on Windows 2000. It's just a browser, no email client.

Chalk up another vote for Firebird. Best. Browser. Ever.

I use Eudora (http://www.eudora.com) for email.

Eudora - is that a lighter load program that OE?

My dad’s cellular internet connection is in search for a more appropriate word, sucks!

I find it lighter. Besides that, it's alot more secure.. Outlook/Express both havn't had good track records with security or viral issues. Personally I like it because of the ease of backing up my email and restoring it. OE is a PITA for stuff like that. With Eudora, you just plop down the email datafiles, and run
Eudora.exe "D:\Email"
and it'll use the email data files from D:\Email.
