I have a KT7A + 1.1GHz T-bird. Last week I unlocked the CPU using conductive silver paint and changed to 9x133=1200. No problems. Until now
Whilst trouble shooting a hard drive issue (which I hope wasn't related), I rebooted only to find no post! I didn't even get the vidcard BIOS screen. Ahhhh! So I reset the CMOS with the jumper, went into BIOS and changed back to 11x100=1100 OK. Next I tried 12x100=1200, no probs. So it would seem my CPU is still unlocked, but won't do 133FSB anymore.

Is this the dreaded problem of the first second or so before the mobo BIOS takes over and forces the multiplier down? I thought this was a rumour, since I don't see how my CPU could have done 133x11=1463 even for 1 second. If it is true, then why would my CPU not do what it did happily for a week or more (including many reboots with their 1 second of danger)?

I can't do 10x100=1000 either Something must have happened to my handy work. I guess I'll take a look sometime, though I'm running @ 100x12.5=1250 right now, so it's not all bad.
