thats pretty hot dude... if i could get some more info, i could help a bit more... is it using the retail hs/f?? what thermal paste ya using?? Blue or Green core??
voltage? some things that should help are: redue your thermal paste, and check if the hs/f is sitting write...
if you hit 61c, you wanna be worried...
intel chip shutdown points are about 49-53c, although intel says you can run em at 80c (yea, right.) Well, the althon chips run REAL hot, so the normal 40 warning 50shuttdown had to be changed for the hot babes that are the athlons... 50c warning 60c shutdown...
clearly you are running WAYYYY to hot...
invest is some more fans....
also, open the case up (take the side off) and see what that does.. try to move anything that might trap heat, like IDE cables, floppy cables, hoses, whatever..
tell me what happens when ya do that, and i'll see what i can do from there! good luck!

he's using some type of orb for hsf with a thermal pad
not sure if blue or green core
he's running stock voltage
and 2 case fans
the temps were taken with probe v 2.12.07
all the cables are out of the way

erm... NOT oced with an Orb - that has nothing to do with additional fans or an open case... theres something wrong... I guess (cant do anything else than that from here :) ) it could be that the core has no good contact to the orb... check this...
also check if the fan is running ok even...
First off you need to get rid of the thermal pad,They SUK! get some thermal paste ,you can go to Radio Shack if you have to and use their brand.Second,Im not a big fan of Orb's for proc. cooling,I had a G-orb for a C2 I had at 667@950 and never could get it where i liked no matter what I tried.Depending on what you have (A socket or a slot) you can get another hf/fan like a Alpha,GW and such that will do you a much better job then a stock hs/fan if thats what your using. Make sure you've got good case cooling also. This is my first AMD,but from what i'v read that sounds pretty hot and you might want to leave it off till you get the hs/fan or atleast get rid of the pad and replace it with paste. Iv got a t-bird 1000@1200 and use a PAL 6035 with a GW fan at 38cfm,I put a thin coat of Artic Silver on it and my Idel temp is about 25C and full load 34-36 C,good luck
