I am thinking of buying a P4P800 to use with my 2.4B MHz P4 processor.
I have read that for 533 P4s there are no memory ratios avaiable, only settings such 266, 320 and Auto. Does this mean the following:

266 -> 1:1 Ratio
320 -> 4:5 Ratio
Auto -> ????

What if I want to use 2:3 ratio - will that be Auto?

Since the 4:5, 2:3, 1:1 ratios are available for the 800 FSB processor, I think the same must be avaiable for the 533 FSB processor.

Are ratios set by the BIOS software, or set through hardware means which can never be changed?

I hope some P4P800 owners clears this doubt of mine.

The P4P800 has these ratios:
400 = 1:1
320 = 5:4
266 = 3:2

Since you have a 533 chip the 400 ratio won't be available. You will have 320 and 266.

isnt' it dumb how that is setup? B chips won't usally even do 200fsb so those are the chips that should have 4:5 and 1:1 stupid asus :rolleyes:

So does it mean I will never be able to run 1:1 ratio on my B chip.

Also, what is the Auto for? What ratio does it set to?

Thanks for the information.

I get 1:1 when I set the memory to 266MHz. P4 3.06GHz/533MHz. Overclocking the FSB keeps the memory operation 1:1.

Thanks for the information.

I will take the risk and buy one P4P800 and see how it with my 2.4 B.

JohnMK, how high a overclock did you manage? Whats the max. FSB you got and what memory are you using?

I got my P4P800 Deluxe. The store did not have Non-deluxe on them.

Can't wait to get home and try it on with the 2.4B and some Corsair PC 3500.
