Hi, this is my first time here, as well as my frist time over clocking, now, If I can, I'd really apreciate it if I could get some help for all you knowledgable overclockers in overclocking my comp.

I have and AMD K6-II With 3D Now 350Mhz processor that is one year old, now I also have an Asus P5A Super Socket 7 motherboard. Since I am planning on buying a new mb and processor withing the next few monthes, I want to get a handle on overclocking now. (In other words I'm not too worried about frying the processor)

Now, what do I need to do in order to overclock this puppy? (Now, I have read alot on how to overclock athlons on Asus A7V since thats what I will be getting so I know some of the general concepts, but I haven't read anything on oldies like mine, so how can I go about meking this pile a garbage a little cleaner and faster?)

Any help? Umm, if it's too long to post here, please e-mail me at zilvawarezz@yep.com or ICQ me at 53657160.

Thanx

u need to just change the jumpers try 4x jumper first if it doesnt boot at all go up on voltage, i belive the standard voltage on those is 2.2v, try 2.4 if that doesnt do the trick go to 2.6 once u get that in 400Mhz try the 4.5x multiplier

i have my 450 at 2.6v and 5x multiplier with STOCK cooling.... u can probbaly go to 2.8v and go a full 100 Mhz over but u will need better cooling, i am not sure if the athlon fans now will fit on the k6-2 but i dont see why not, hence if it does that will still be a future investment in a cooling device, get a crome orb or somthing like that and get that puppy 100Mhz over! those are $20-$30 cpu fry that puppy for the hell of experimentation! hehehh

nah bra, u dont want to do that now. u wont experience OC'g w/a k6-2, i have a 400 on a p5a as my server, trust me, its not a OC learning tool. read up on the basics and keep ur old comp as a server, backup machine, or for use by some1 else in the house. then take baby steps w/ur new cpu. by the way get the a7v133, not the old a7v, u'll be able to take OC'g to better level for urself and u can play safer dude. i'll check back in ya.

good luck,
